Since 2023, Henrybuilt has published the editorially independent design journal Untapped, which was created in response to a scarcity of serious but accessible design journalism.
Focused on learning from the past as a means for improvement—an approach Henrybuilt has long followed—the journal is a way for us to show readers how we think and work, and to explore topics we’re interested in, without featuring any of our products.
Led by editor Tiffany Jow and written by leading cultural critics, Untapped’s print, digital, and live content explores everyday objects’ ability to impact the emotions and experiences of their users in profound, often unexpected ways. This results in journalism that Henrybuilt enthusiastically supports, learns from, and is honored to make available for all.
