This was a project rich in history and steeped in spirit. A penthouse conversion on the floor of a historic warehouse – listed on the National Register of Historic Places - that was used for roasting and storing coffee, as well as cutting and grinding spices. Flavors that the clients didn’t want to erase when creating a place to host family and friends.

At the center - literally and figuratively – the kitchen needed to blend-in and stand out. It was essential that it look like furniture and perform like a finely tuned workshop. The clients leaned on Henrybuilt’s new approach to the kitchen, combining product innovation with a natural, highly-crafted feel. Nowhere better represented than by the island that resembles a found object on the outside with culinary capability built inside.

And, while visual quietness and integration was important, the way the kitchen felt to use was an integral part of the aesthetic experience. In enhancing and elevating everyday living, some things, the best things, are rightly measured more by the impact and experience they create. A primary ingredient of a soulful space.
