Made for the Mountain

AN ELEMENTAL HOME IN DIALOGUE WITH ITS TERRAIN
“Henrybuilt’s design language, along with the beautifully crafted feel of its materials and user experience, is completely in sync with the home’s architecture and interiors,” says the client. “The Henrybuilt components do not just fit into the architecture; they really became part of it.”

In 2021, a five-time Henrybuilt client assembled a team to create a dramatically situated home high above Boulder, Colorado. Nested carefully into a steep, rocky slope by Follow Architecture and Silver Lining Builders, the shaded interior offers a calm contrast to the windswept, sun-bleached landscape. Despite a muscular material palette, the spaces inside are warm, tactile, and livable. It’s a high-view house designed to weather, patina, and last generations.

The tone is both rugged and refined: a calm, confident ecosystem of high function and deep beauty set within Follow Architecture’s composition of interwoven concrete, wood, and steel.
Henrybuilt products and systems were designed into most of the rooms in the home. In the kitchen, the vertical and horizontal Bar Blocks put the right items in the right place, making them visible in aesthetically interesting ways.
Henrybuilt’s Opencase wall panel system allows for the movement and rearrangement of compatible accessories like leather pouches, shelving, and hanging rods—in the wardrobe and beyond.
Primary Objects vanities also make an appearance. All of these products become part of the home’s architecture, adding uniqueness and flexibility.
Henrybuilt’s design language, materials, and textures were carefully chosen and integrated with blackened steel panels and exacting architectural detailing.
Our early involvement in the project, and our close collaboration with the client, architect, and contractor, allowed peak integration into Follow’s architecture.
Whether your home is up on a mountain or in a small city apartment, we’d love to discuss how the Henrybuilt system might work for you.
