The Diplomat, the first island in a series of six that each take on a unique persona, acknowledges the kinship of the artisan’s workbench and the handcraft of food making. It is an heirloom-quality furniture piece and a sophisticated system of cooking tools, storage, and serving power.

The Diplomat has a powerful stance but with a lightness. It is intentionally less monolithic than most islands and more “ready for action.” Each side is useful, from its drawer systems and Bar Block to its Opencase end units.
Henrybuilt’s newly refined, iconic Bar Block is integrated into the surface of The Diplomat.
In addition to the Bar Block’s functionality as a flexible tool box or serving station, the Bar Block helps conceal any mess on the counter from view when kitchen and living areas blend together. The overhang creates a partial bar extension that allows for sitting or standing on the non-working side of the island or peninsula.

Bar Block refinements include a thinner profile and new edge detail that increases durability. Its openings accept new stackable boxes with handles to allow easy movement about the kitchen or to the dining table.
The island is fitted with our new 30-degree-angle mortised D-pull, designed for optimal ease of use and integrated using our unique new bolt-through system for attachment.
The Diplomat’s open ends use Henrybuilt’s Opencase paneling to allow flexible configuration for an individual or family’s needs: wine-centric dinner parties, family munchdowns, or kids snacks.
