Artist in Residence

Surprise. That was the design intent for this space, reimagined as an artist’s family home in Los Angeles by Studio Cicetti.

Architect Melissa Cicetti gave Henrybuilt both leeway and guidance in bringing its expertise to the project, layering it on top of hers to create that surprise in the end result.

The design is grounded in a contrast between familiar, unassuming exteriors and bold, expressive interiors.

Throughout the home, you will find unusual details, such as mirrored drawer interiors and wallpaper-lined wardrobes.

The client, a celebrated visual artist, likes to play with materials, embracing the technical.

He was intrigued with our vast selection of high-pressure laminates and the ability to use them in creative ways.

But, not at the cost of performance. “As someone who likes to cook, I’m single-minded about kitchens. They need to be functional, durable, and easy to clean,” he said.
